There are different types of trays for growing lettuce available in the market. Choosing the right size of lettuce seed trays is very important. Buy lettuce growing trays that are made of plastic or wood, which will retain moisture well but allow air circulation around the roots.

Step 3: Place lettuce seed trays on a heating mat set at 70 degrees F (21 C) and leave it there for 14 days while the seeds germinate. Remove any moldy seedlings that develop during this time period and replace them with new ones if needed.
Step 4: Transplant the remaining seedlings into individual pots using potting soil, spacing them 1 inch apart from each other. Water them well and place them under led grow lights until they are ready to go outside or into larger containers for transplanting in your garden bed.
